In my internship, I positively used communication and literacy. For literacy; I was able to write a computer program which sorted documents on the computer, automatically, instead of having to go through each file one by one and picking out certain documents. By doing so, I made the process a lot quicker, for myself, and my hosting company and learned about the power of knowledge and computers. I was also able to effectively use communication, by telling my employer my personal goals, which has made working together a lot easier, and has allowed my employer to use my strong suits and areas of expertise. Through this experience, I have learned that effective communication is very helpful in achieving more and optimally using resources.
Two work readiness skills which have held me back have been diligence and professionalism. In terms of diligence, when filing I lost count of the file number and accidentally skipped a document in filing, and because I wasn't acting with diligence, I had to redo the entire process, which was a lot of extra work. For professionalism, I came to work late by a few minutes, which was unprofessional and gave me a late start to work, and so I had to work harder to complete all my tasks on time.

ReplyDeleteI find it interesting how, we have almost the exact opposite set of skills and weaknesses. I really like how detailed you were in this blog and how you worked to solve your problems. One of your biggest problems was just a small fault and it comes to show us every little detail matters. I could certainly work on my computer literacy because I don't feel as if I am very efficient compared to you.
ReplyDeleteI think its great how you you were able to improve efficiency in the workplace! Having the mindset and the desire to benefit the area in which you work is a great thing and i'm sure your supervisors and coworkers greatly appreciate the work you have put in.
